The inquiry pipeline

Every live inquiry as a board, so you can see what's stuck and where.

Updated

Inquiry Pipeline in the sidebar shows every inquiry as a card on a board, arranged by how far along it is.

The stages

Six columns, left to right:

  1. Inquiry recorded — logged, nothing built yet.
  2. Itinerary created — there's a plan, not yet sent.
  3. Proposal sent — with the client, awaiting a decision.
  4. Confirmed — they said yes.
  5. Invoiced — billing has started.
  6. Completed — done.

Each column shows a count, and each card carries the client name, inquiry reference, destination, travel dates, when it last moved and the agent looking after it.

It moves on its own

You don't drag cards between columns. An inquiry moves as you do the work — sending a proposal puts it in Proposal sent, confirming the itinerary puts it in Confirmed, and so on.

That makes the board a reflection of reality rather than a second thing to maintain. It also means a card in the wrong column usually means a step was skipped in the app, not that the board is wrong.

Options

  • List view switches to a table if you'd rather scan rows.
  • New Inquiry starts one without leaving the page.
  • Show completed older than 1 month brings back older finished trips, which are hidden by default to keep the board readable.

Tips

  • Read it right to left. The columns nearest the money — Proposal sent and Confirmed — are where a stalled card costs you most.
  • The "last moved" line on each card is the useful one. A proposal sent three weeks ago with no movement is the follow-up you've forgotten.
