Building a trip from a template

Load a template into the itinerary you're already in, or start from the Tour Templates page.

Updated

A template becomes a real trip the moment it's attached to an inquiry. There are two ways in, and the first one meets you where you already are.

From inside a new itinerary

This is the usual route. Creating an itinerary — the first one for a brand-new inquiry, or another option added with + New option — drops you straight into the editor with a blank draft. At the top of that draft, Niti asks: Start from a Tour Template?

Click Load Tour Template, pick one, and confirm. The trip you're in stays the same record — its inquiry, traveller, reference and travel dates are all untouched. What comes across is the trip itself: stays, visits, transport, flights and the day plan, shifted onto this trip's own start date. Only the end date moves, to match the template's length.

The prompt only appears while the draft is empty. The moment the trip has any content, it disappears — so it can never offer to overwrite real work.

From the Tour Templates page

Go to Tour Templates in the sidebar and click Use this on the one you want. Use this Tour Template asks for:

  • Inquiry — which enquiry this trip is for.
  • Departure date — every day in the template shifts to match.
  • Adults, Children, Infants — optional.

Then Create itinerary. On headcount, the rule is worth knowing:

Leave the headcount blank to take it from the inquiry. Flight passenger counts follow the group; room and vehicle counts stay as the template had them, since how people share is your call.

What Niti recalculates

Either way in, two things happen automatically:

  • Every day shifts to line up with the trip's departure date.
  • Prices are recalculated at today's exchange rates, with your agency's markups applied. A template saved six months ago doesn't quote six-month old numbers.

Rooms and vehicles are deliberately not guessed — they come across as the template had them. Four travellers might be two doubles or a triple and a single, and Niti won't assume.

After that it's a normal itinerary

What you get is an ordinary itinerary — same builder, same sections, same route through pricing and sending a proposal. Edit it freely; the template is untouched.

Tips

  • Check the rooms and vehicles first. They're the one thing carried over unchanged, so they're the one thing most likely to be wrong.
  • The in-draft prompt offers your most recently updated templates. If the one you want isn't listed, go through the Tour Templates page — it shows them all, with search.
