Creating an inquiry

Log what the client is asking for — destination, dates, group size — and get it into your pipeline.

Updated

An inquiry is the record of someone asking you about a trip. It holds the brief: where, when, how many people, roughly what budget.

Start the inquiry

Click Create Inquiry in the sidebar. Niti asks Who is this inquiry for? — pick an existing client, or use Create new client if they aren't in your list yet.

If you just came from the client form via Save and create inquiry, you'll already be on the New Inquiry screen with the client attached.

Fill in the brief

Only two things are required:

  • Primary destination — the main country. For a multi-country trip, pick the main one; you can add the others when you build the itinerary.
  • Travel dates — a start and an end date.

The rest is optional and can wait:

  • Group size — split into Adults, Children (ages 2–11) and Infants (under 2).
  • Purpose — Leisure, Business, Honeymoon, Adventure, Family Vacation, Pilgrimage, Education, Medical, Sports or Other.
  • Budget — pick a currency and a range. Leave it blank if the budget is flexible.
  • Inquiry documents — PDF, PNG or JPG, up to 10 MB per file. These are for your internal records; the client never sees them.
  • Add notes — free text.

Then choose Save, or Save and build itinerary to go straight on to the next step.

What happens next

The inquiry gets a reference like INQ0001 and appears in your Inquiry Pipeline. Its own page becomes the hub for the trip: from there you can add itineraries, bundle them into a proposal, and track the trip through to invoicing.

Tips

  • Paste the client's original message into the notes. A week later, that context is exactly what you'll want.
  • Log the inquiry even when the details are thin. Dates and traveller numbers can change right up until you send pricing, and the itinerary picks up your changes.

This is Niti.
