Adding transport

Vehicles, drivers and transfers — how the group moves between stops.

Updated

Transport covers how the client gets around on the ground: airport pickups, vans between towns, boat transfers, anything that moves the group from one part of the itinerary to the next.

Add a transport detail

Click Add a transport detail. Each one needs:

  • Transport Provider — the supplier running the vehicle.
  • Transport Type — what kind of movement this is.
  • Vehicle Type — the vehicle itself.
  • Vehicles — how many you need.
  • Rate per Vehicle — in your trip currency.
  • Supplier Total Cost — what you're charged.

Vehicles and Rate per Vehicle work together: two vans at a given rate bills as two vans. If a group needs a second vehicle for luggage or because they won't fit in one, put the count in here rather than adding a second transport detail.

Extras

  • Add vehicle details — specifics worth recording against the vehicle.
  • Add expense — a related charge such as parking or a highway toll.
  • Add notes / special instructions — pickup points, driver notes, anything the provider needs.

Then Add another transport detail for the next leg.

Tips

  • Add transport last, once stays and activities are in. The route is obvious by then, and you're far less likely to miss a transfer.
  • Flights, trains, ferries and buses don't go here — those belong in Flights & Tickets. Transport is for the vehicles you arrange.
